Estate agent zips it for charity

Didsbury estate agent, Markus Jolleys of Gascoigne Halman, took to the air on a zip wire once again last weekend, when he zipped 250 metres across Manchester’s iconic Ship Canal in aid of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

MJ Zip Wire

The daring feat saw Markus jump off the Air Shard at the Imperial War Museum, which is almost 100 feet high, zip across the Manchester Ship Canal and land right in front of the Lowry. The zip wire formed part of Markus’ year long campaign for Royal Manchester’s Children Hospital and raised over £100 for the charity.

Commenting, Markus said, “Even though I’ve done a zip wire once before, I could feel that familiar feeling in the pit of my stomach and my legs turn to jelly as I looked down to observe the ground below. However, when you see the amazing views across Manchester and Media City you soon forgot about it – it’s such an exhilarating experience.”

Markus is also continuing to support local children’s hospice, Francis House, and is due to participate in their Festival of Christmas trees next month. The Festival of Christmas, which is being held at the Lowry Outlet Mall, will see over 40 decorated trees on display with a chance to bid for your favourite.
