Gascoigne Halman bake a tasty sum for local hospices

Wilmslow 3

Staff from Gascoigne Halman recently turned bakers for the day in order to raise as much money as possible for their three charities of the year, East Cheshire Hospice, St Ann’s Hospice and St Rocco’s Hospice and local charity, Blythe House Hospice. The company wide Bakethon, which involved 17 of Gascoigne Halman’s offices, brought in a staggering total of £3340.55.

The Bakethon saw staff baking cakes, cookies and muffins and selling them to prospective home buyers and sellers, in fact anyone passing by their offices.

Gascoigne Halman’s first ever Bakethon took place two years ago and raised over £2,000 for The Christie and everyone is delighted that this year’s event managed to raise even more money for local hospices.

Commenting on the Bakethon, John Halman said, “Once again everyone at Gascoigne Halman has made such a fantastic effort by baking a delicious selection of home-made treats, even those who couldn’t bake got stuck in! We’ve raised a phenomenal amount and I know that the teams at all of the local hospices are thrilled with our efforts.”

The Bakethon is part of a year long fundraising effort by the staff at Gascoigne Halman to support St Ann’s Hospice, East Cheshire Hospice and St Rocco’s Hospice. All three hospices are based locally and they help care and support local individuals and their families who are affected by cancer and other life limiting illnesses.

Estate agents train for Trans Pennine Trail

Taking inspiration from the world famous Le Tour De France, two cycle enthusiasts from the Didsbury office of Gascoigne Halman are limbering up to take on their own version of the Trans Pennine Trail at the end of this month. The trip will be in aid of local charity, East Cheshire Hospice.

East Cheshire Hospice care for people suffering from life limiting illnesses as well as their families and carers, across Buxton, Congleton, High Legh, High Peak, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Poynton, Wilmslow and everywhere else in between.

The Trans Pennine Trial (TPT) coast to coast route runs from Southport to Hornsea and is an impressive 215 miles long. Keen to complete their cycle in just one day however, James Coppock, who completed the Coast to Coast cycle ride two years ago and Nathan Fitzpatrick have planned a condensed version of the TPT. Their cycle will begin at Southport Pier at 9am, passing the doors of the Gascoigne Halman offices in Stockton Heath, Lymm, Hale and Sale before finally finishing at the Didsbury office. The pair are hoping to complete the grueling 60 mile challenge in just 8 hours.

James added, “We decided to organise our own version of the TPT which would take in as many of our offices as possible along the way. We both enjoy cycling and the outdoors and were keen to really challenge ourselves, especially in the name of such a worthy cause. We’re asking all of our offices to give generously and have set-up a Just Giving page (www.justgiving.com/James-Coppock) which we’re directing all of our customers to.

Gascoigne Halman have chosen to raise money for three local hospices this year, East Cheshire Hospice, St Ann’s Hospice and St Rocco’s Hospice.

Cheadle estate agent get thumbs up

Cheadle estate agent, Katy Bowden is celebrating after becoming an accredited Relocation Agent Specialist.

The accreditation was awarded to the Gascoigne Halman employee by Relocation Agent Network and is achieved by completing a comprehensive training programme, The Importance of Service.

Katy, a mother of two has worked at the Cheadle office of Gascoigne Halman since it opened nearly ten years ago.

Gascoigne Halman is part of Relocation Agent Network, a national network of independent estate agents who assist people to find a house when they are relocating. The Network introduced the training programme to ensure each of their members provides the very highest customer service to those relocating around the UK.

To gain her accreditation, Katie completed three phases of learning, starting with four training sessions on the importance of customer service. This was followed by three online seminars covering how best to help customers who are relocating around the UK.

Finally, Katie converted her theoretical learning into a practical skill set by delivering assistance to three relocating customers.

Peter Higham of Gascoigne Halman said, “We take staff development very seriously and Katy’s accreditation is a great example of what can be achieved when staff are supported properly to improve their skills. Of course, having a Relocation Agent Specialist in the team is also great for our relocating customers.”
